Believe it or not, it has still not been a full month since the arrival of Mediatonic’s Fall Guys. The game launched for PlayStation 4 and PC on August 4th and since then has climbed the popularity ladder with millions of players tuning into the new game on both platforms. It was already reported that the game surpassed two million installs within its first week of shipping to Steam, now there is another achievement worth noting.
Reiterating on the game’s release on PlayStation 4, that was done via the PlayStation Plus’ free games initiative providing two titles at no additional cost. This month, both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Campaign and Fall Guys were the aforementioned free titles. Howbeit, Fall Guys exceeded expectation that even Sony deemed worth pointing out.
On Twitter, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that Fall Guys happened to be the most popular release for PlayStation Plus as it is now ranked most downloaded title in the history of the service.
Mediatonic’s current juggernaut release overtakes the first place spot that was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. The 2016 title took the its throne when becoming a featured PlayStation Plus title back in March 2019. Sony in celebration of the 10-year anniversary for PlayStation Plus spared the top 5 contenders for the most downloaded entries.
In other Fall Guys-related news, it was reported that the growing popular entry will be making its way to mobile devices. While the game is still locked for its unique release on PC and PlayStation, the game’s publishing rights in China were acquired by Billibilli and is currently underway to bringing the game to smart phones in the coming future.
This week also, Sony Interactive Entertainment shared the next set of games that will be replacing Fall Guys for September 2020. Those games being Street Fighter V and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. You can read the full report by heading here.
