The live-action Fallout TV Series that came to Prime Video earlier this year has become one of the most successful video game adaptations. It has since received 16 Emmy nominations, generated over 65 million views at the time it was released, and was #1 worldwide on the streaming platform.
In a recent interview with Variety, Amazon executives Jennifer Salke and Vernon Sanders were asked about the Fallout TV Series. They were asked if they would continue with the same cast for Season 2 or shift to an anthology format.
While not answering the question directly, Vernon Sanders did indicate they are ahead of schedule for Fallout Season 2 and already have scripts in hand. Either executive could not answer a launch date for next season.
“We’ve been fortunate because this was the vision all along. I think we’re ahead of schedule, in terms of being able to get Season 2 back. We don’t have an exact launch date yet, but we’ve already gotten scripts in hand, and I think the fans of Season 1 will really love where we’re going for Season 2.”
Fallout has by far been the biggest adaption for an Xbox studio especially compared to Halo as it has now been canceled at Paramount+. Prime Video might start becoming a home for more TV shows from iconic video game franchises. God of War and Tomb Raider will also be getting a series on the streaming platform in the future.
