As the years stretch onward, ways to differentiate them is by looking at games that came out this year. For the sake of EA Sports’ FIFA, this is kind of a challenge, however. In that, the firm has featured Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain & France National Team Kylian Mbappé for both FIFA 21 & FIFA 22 for two consecutive years now.

Perhaps things are set to change with the new direction FIFA is heading in. According to a statement made back in May, the FIFA title is dropping as Electronic Arts is to continue with EA Sports FC starting next year. According to EA at the time, the decision only propels the franchise further since building a portfolio of licenses for the industry for over a decade.

Recently, Electronic Arts announced FIFA 23 and features FA Women’s Super League and the Australia women’s national soccer Forward Sam Kerr and Mbappé as this year’s cover athletes. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:

“It’s an honour and a dream come true to be on the cover of FIFA 23. It’s been incredible to work with Kylian and the whole EA SPORTS team, and I can’t wait for fans to get their hands on a copy of the game,” Kerr expresses in the press release. Additionally, EA Sports also expands on the improvements for HyperMotion2 and the addition of the Women’s Football Club for FIFA 23.

“We have pushed the boundaries of realism in EA SPORTS FIFA 23 through HyperMotion2, using state-of-the-art technology to capture professional men’s and women’s teams in full intensity matches that translates millions of data points into new animations in real-time. The result is the most natural and realistic motion in football gaming, and when combined with the inclusion of both men’s and women’s World Cups, women’s club football, and cross-play features, will immerse players and football fans around the world for years to come,” says EA Sports SVP & GM Nick Wlodyka.

“I’m delighted that the Barclays Women’s Super League will be one of the first women’s club competitions to feature in EA SPORTS FIFA 23, with the franchise historically having one of the largest and most engaged gaming communities in the world The FA’s Commercial Director Navin Singh says. “The added visibility a global brand like EA SPORTS will provide for our league, teams and players cannot be underestimated. This very much supports our ambition to accelerate the growth of the women’s game in England, and highlights our commitment to open up the Barclays Women’s Super League, and make it even more accessible, to new audiences around the globe.”
