The tale of Square Enix’s return for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles has been one told in a longer period of time than fans would have anticipated. Initially announced at E3 almost a year ago, followers instantly grew excited that the game would be shipping for modern systems. The title initially launched faulted due to the fact that only owners of the Game Boy connector for the GameCube could actually play.

While there were fans that did prepare for the extra hassle, many were unable to properly enjoy the game as this feature was only unique to Crystal Chronicles in 2003. But with the new version arriving, the internet could remedy that issue as the game would feature cross-play between Switch, PlayStation, and mobile.

Howbeit, the team later on this past December unveiled that the game would require more time and pushed the launch date to summer 2020. And now, with summer just on the horizon, Square Enix has emerged to announced that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will be shipping this coming August. Here is the announcement trailer which you can view in the video below:

In spirit of the new release date slated for late August, Square Enix discloses some of the additions that will be offered in this new version. Of course, visuals for the game have been tuned up alongside better audio fixings as well. But the firm shares that the casting “have been brought to life” as there are new voices for the game’s characters.

Players can also find new challenges that were not in the original game as there are more dungeons to explore the Tipa village and settlements surrounding. When exploring, users can also utilize the mimic feature to change their characters’ appearances when collection memory crystals to add a layer of diversity to the experience.

Are you planning on picking up Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered later this summer?

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS on August 27, 2020.
