So far for 2023, the year has been a very momentous time for the video game industry. And partly, this is to thank for classic remakes. In January, we witnessed this with Metroid Prime Remastered. Additionally, the pattern continued with the more recent release of Resident Evil 4 Remake as well.
The game not only pushes the envelope for modern titles, but also reinvents what the classic 2004 experience was to offer a fresh coat of paint for returning & new fans alike. That is not all, Capcom has confirmed there will be VR support for the game on PlayStation 5. The PlayStation VR 2 is to receive a free update for Resident Evil 4 Remake later on, it announced.
On Friday, Capcom has went ahead with one free update for Resident Evil 4 Remake which welcomes the fan-favorite game mode ‘Mercenaries’ to the new release. You can watch the release trailer in the video below:
“The Mercenaries is a timed mode where you defeat hordes of enemies to earn a high score. At first, you’ll only have access to certain weapons, so if you want to score big you’ll have to learn which weapons suit which situations. To begin, only the Village stage is available, but the better you play, the more stages and other content you unlock,” Capcom writes in the post.
“Remember: if the clock isn’t ticking down, your score can’t tick up. To extend your remaining time, use melee to take out enemies, or defeat specific, powerful ones. Collecting glowing green time-orbs will extend your time, so grabbing them should be part of your strategy. […] Activate Mayhem Mode to gain a temporary boost to your Power, Speed, and other stats.
“Receive a boost to your score for attacking enemies; and a boost to your remaining time for defeating them. Your Mayhem Mode gauge steadily increases over time, and when you defeat enemies or successfully parry attacks. Alternatively, collect a Mayhem Mode Orb to fill one bar instantly!”
