Upon determining the next step that developer Sucker Punch Productions is taking, many presume the team to potentially return to the Infamous series. While dormant since the release of Infamous: Second Son and its standalone experience Infamous: First Light, there has been little to no attention to the IP. But speculation hints at a resurrection after the developer renewed the domain for the franchise previously.
Additionally, it is also understood that Sucker Punch Productions could also potentially be working on a new project regarding Ghost of Tsushima unique to PlayStation 5. In that, it was uncovered on one LinkedIn profile that Cinematic Creative Director Dave Molloy is “presently working on the Ghost of Tsushima game for Sony PS5.” But, little information followed the initial reporting at the time.
In a new string of leaks from @Shpeshal_Nick on Twitter, the series is expecting a new addition later this year, he indicated in one post. But, the user later went on to disclose the new project is a standalone experience similar to Uncharted 4: A Lost Legacy/Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales dubbed ‘Ghost of Ikishima’.
According to the initial tread from the Twitter user, he originally framed the experience to be in similar structure to Gears Hivebusters: so a unique experience that is sold separate of the original story. However, the poster does not elaborate further upon the new project aside that it is to ship later on in 2021. It is speculated perhaps it will be revealed at a coming Sony livestream for next month, but the show has yet to be officially scheduled.
Recently, it also appears that Ghost of Tsushima is to hit PC fairly soon. In that, one Reddit user unearthed an updated cover for the game which removes he “Exclusive to PlayStation” writing on the packaging. You can read the full report by heading here.
