SAG-AFTRA video game voice and performance actors will be going on strike as of midnight on Friday, July 26, 2024. This strike is related to AI once again which was similar to a prior strike almost a year ago. This new strike from SAG-AFTRA might impact multiple different games in development including Grand Theft Auto 6, if video game studios continue to refuse to make a deal with voice actors.
This strike will impact actors working for companies such as Electronic Arts, Disney, Take-Two, Activision, Insomniac, and others. The biggest concern will be for Grand Theft Auto 6 as it is a Take-Two Interactive title and is slated to release in Fall 2025.
BREAKING: SAG-AFTRA video game voice/performance actors are going on strike at midnight tonight. Basically over AI

It’s too early to tell if the next Grand Theft Auto will be heavily impacted by this, but if this strike lasts for a lengthy time, there could be impacts for multiple highly anticipated titles.
It was shared a few months ago that Grand Theft Auto 6 has entered the final stages of development, so it’s possible that most of the important voice acting was done already. For everyone’s sake, hopefully, a resolution is found very quickly so no games see further delays.
