Although the original Harry Potter film franchise concluded roughly a decade ago, the love for the franchise still burns with Warner Bros. in search to profit for more projects. Already, the Fantastic Beasts trilogy concluded with The Secrets of Dumbledore back in the spring and a new title is set to release later on.

For the longest time, a new Harry Potter RPG was leaked delivering a full authentic and in-depth experience within the walls of Hogwarts. However, it wasn’t until the official reveal for Hogwarts Legacy that we learned the game will be shipped taking place before the events of the book series. But, the originally promised 2021 release window was suddenly pushed to 2022 last year.

In a new announcement on Twitter, Avalanche Software & Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment reveals Hogwarts Legacy release date. Howbeit, the game will be arriving next year as revealed in the new delay.

What came as a major surprise for Hogwarts Legacy previously is the list of supported platforms. While Xbox, PlayStation, and PC were slated for the game already, it was truly eye-opening to discover that a native Nintendo Switch version of the game is also in development. The game is shown to be very draining for 8th generation hardware and the Nintendo Switch is not safe from that; unless it was a Cloud version.

From the Friday announcement, the post shares that the Nintendo Switch port is not ready for release come this February. Instead, the version for Nintendo’s handheld hybrid console will instead ship at a later date following the original launch of Hogwarts Legacy. Are you happy there is finally an official release date for Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy is said to ship in holiday 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; Nintendo Switch version will launch at a later date.
