Of course, alike the comics and even films now, Marvel is branching across multiple fronts to collaborate with all mediums for its properties. And the same is expected with its video games as well. Through its partnership through Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man is expected to share the same wavelength as the forthcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game as well.
Already witnessing how the game performs in its first month – selling over 5 million copies in just under two weeks – it is certain that PlayStation is planning to bridge these characters in future installments to some extent. Already, there is even some consideration as to even executing a potential Venom spin-off game – that is if the player base is interested in such a game.
From multiple interviews online, Insomniac Games is keen to hint at crossovers time-and-time again since the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. When speaking to IGN, senior creative director Bryan Intihar told the outlet on fans finding ‘Nelson and Murdock’ to “Stay tuned. Good find though,” alluding to a potential Daredevil collaboration.
Additionally, there is also the chance of Marvel’s Wolverine crossing paths as well. Speaking to KindaFunny Games, Intihar also nodded that both characters share the same universe. “They are 1048. I think I got that right, but yeah.” Similarly, Peter Parker/Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal expressed excitement on the possibility in a past interview too.
However, there is nothing solidifying this just yet. When speaking to IGN once more, Intihar also said it is not in the cards yet. “Let’s let the Wolverine team cook. If something happens in the future, great but right now let’s give them a clear runaway to making the best Wolverine game possible.” You can watch the full segment by heading here.
