Developer InXile Entertainment just a few months ago at E3 showcased Wasteland 3 at the Microsoft press conference, going into further detail about the upcoming project and disclosed that the game will arrive sometime next year in 2020. While the title is still a priority for 2020, it seems that the studio is already looking ahead towards the next game after their post-apocalyptic RPG.

Revealed through the studio’s job listings on the developer’s website, InXile Entertainment is currently searching for someone to take the role of the Senior Gameplay Engineer, but the juiciest part about this is not focused on being a new title, but that the listing emphasizes on the game being for the next generation of consoles.

Here is an excerpt of the listing’s description:

“InXile Entertainment is looking for a talented, passionate, and experienced Senior Gameplay Engineer for a next-generation role-playing game,” the synopsis for the position reads. “Working collaboratively and iteratively with multi-disciplinary teams, the Senior Gameplay Engineer will be vital to creating fun and engaging experiences for inXile’s next great role-playing adventure.”

Dissecting the job listing asks for the expected requirements such as experience within the video game market or around a related industry and experience with Unreal Engine 4. As for what this listing ultimately reveals is where the trail ends unfortunately; but knowing there is yet more to come is just enough for those excited to look ahead.

This is not the first time that a job listing has revealed a new project from a developer, and one aimed for upcoming hardware as well. Rocksteady Studios about a year ago released a new listing for a Senior Environment Artist. As for InXile Entertainment, this new unnamed project since the studio is under Xbox Game Studios as a first-party developer could potentially be a new IP that will only be limited to the Xbox platforms alongside a release for Windows 10.

What do you think this new project might be?
