Knuckles TV Series To Air Its Six-Episode Run On April 26th

Previously at the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the immediate response for the film’s continued success showed Paramount and its creatives that there is a larger world to expand upon for the Sonic the Hedgehog. In one statement from producer Toby Ascher, plans were underway for a greater connected universe. And this was established when both a third film & Knuckles spin-off show were greenlit that prior February.

Since then, we saw the filming of the Knuckles TV series kick off including director Jeff Fowler taking the helm for the introductory pilot. Of course, the film is also underway with new reports as well since the recent teaser that went live this month. The biggest take away being the return of Jim Carrey to reprise his role as Dr. Robotnik.

In a new announcement from Paramount Studios, the Knuckles mini-series is planning to air all six episodes later this April on Paramount+. Alongside a new trailer, it is confirmed a TV spot will also be present at the CBS Television Network’s Super Bowl LVIII pregame broadcast as well. You can watch the official trailer in the video below:

“The new live-action event series follows Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior. The series takes place between the films SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3. In addition to Elba starring as the titular character, Adam Pally reprises his role from the film franchise as Wade Whipple,” the press release reads.

“The ensemble cast includes guest stars Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Scott Mescudi (Don’t Look Up), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), Julian Barratt (Mindhorn), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Cary Elwes (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Paul Scheer (Black Monday), and Rob Huebel (Childrens Hospital).

“Special guest star Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as Sonic, as well as special guest star Tika Sumpter, reprising her role as Maddie. Colleen O’Shaughnessey will also return as a special guest star in her role as Tails.” What has you most excited for the Knuckles TV series?
