Although the latest mainline entry in the ‘Yakuza’ series took place back in 2020, the series is facing a rebranding since. Yakuza: Like a Dragon was a send off for the series as ‘Like a Dragon’ will be the namesake moving forward, RGG Studio confirmed. Entertaining this idea, we’ve already seen this with Like a Dragon Ishin as well as the upcoming Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name coming in November later this year.

Expanding to the next major entry, it was revealed that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth furthers the decision with the newest installment in the series. Recently, it was revealed those that purchase Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will also be granted a demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth ahead of its 2024 release.

Now in a new trailer as part of the latest RGG Summit this week, the developer reveals that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is set to launch this January next year. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“Two larger-than-life heroes brought together by the hand of fate, or perhaps something more sinister… Ichiban Kasuga, an unstoppable underdog who’s no stranger to crawling up from rock bottom, and Kazuma Kiryu, a broken man facing down his last days,” the description for the game reads from the official website online.

“Experience one-of-a-kind combat with dynamic, fast-paced RPG battles where the battlefield becomes your weapon, and anything goes. Adapt your party’s skills to the situation with outlandish jobs and customizations to strategically subdue enemies with over-the-top moves. […] Live it up in Japan and explore all that Hawaii has to offer in an adventure so big it spans the Pacific. Unforgettable moments await at every step of the journey with a unique mix of quests and activities to enjoy at your leisure.”
