Come this February, fans of Monster Hunter will be busy until further notice. Back during the PlayStation State of Play showcase in September, Capcom revealed that the highly-anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds is coming in winter 2025. After the impression made by 2018’s Monster Hunter World, fans are excited to see the true successor come up to the base from what the trailers have shown thus far.
And, it will not be long until you can sample what Monster Hunter Wilds has to offer this month. In that, Capcom at the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase revealed that an Open Beta is set to take place the last week of October. Noted, PlayStation Plus owners will be granted early access from October 28 – 30 whilst the remaining users will be able to join between October 31 – November 3.
Alongside the playtest coming this month, Capcom also revealed that there will be limited edition PlayStation 5 accessories as well. It is revealed that a PlayStation 5 DualSense & PlayStation 5 Covers will be coming. Noted, these items will only be available in select markets in Asia with no confirmation for Europe or North America.
“This controller is specially designed for hunters who are embarking on a journey into the world of ‘Monster Hunter Wilds’. A subtle design inspired by the pattern on the first piece of equipment worn by the hunter in the film stands out in silver on both sides of the Volcanic Red DualSense wireless controller. The touchpad has an emblem design of the Forbidden Ground Survey Corps,” the post reads.
“This is a specially designed PS5 cover with the motif of ‘Monster Hunter Wilds’. The emblem design of the Forbidden Land Survey Corps that appears in the work is decorated with a silver color that shines on the cover of Midnight Black,” it adds via a machine translator. The controller will be available apan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam whilst the cover is unique to Japan.
However, this is not the first instance that exclusive accessories were region locked to Asia. Back in spring 2023, Square Enix & PlayStation revealed a DualSense controller & PlayStation 5 covers will be coming for Final Fantasy XVI. But, only for those select markets.
