Over at PlayStation, there is plenty of variation in terms of the options for fans to indulge in. While the PlayStation 5 launched in a clean, stock white there is more decision making on the PlayStation Store. In that, the firm did introduce a selection of different colored covers to swap for the console. But, there has yet to be an official bundle that comes with a unique design like previous generations.
But, that is not to say there weren’t any bundles to begin with. Last year, the PlayStation firm offered Horizon Forbidden West alongside God of War Ragnarok bundles. That is not all though, Sony even featured a specialized God of War Ragnarok DualSense controller. Additionally, Hogwarts Legacy also received the same attention as well this winter.
Now in a new report from Gematsu, Final Fantasy XVI is added to the list for both categories. On May 4th, the PlayStation 5 Final Fantasy XVI bundle will be live on PlayStation Direct for pre-order. However, it is in Japan where the announcement is more spicy for excited fans. There are official covers and a unique DualSense controller which you can view in the image below:
Noted, like bundles before it there will not be a physical copy of the game included in the PlayStation 5 Final Fantasy XVI. Instead, there will be a digital code to redeem packaged inside with the console. There is no official word as of the report determining whether or not there are plans to offer the Final Fantasy XVI covers & controller in North America as of yet.
Regarding the upcoming Square Enix flagship release, Final Fantasy XVI is set to come later this June. Additionally, one trailer for the game revealed that the title is confirmed to be a console exclusive to PlayStation 5 for roughly six months. This suggests that Xbox Series X|S versions will be arriving sometime after the deadline leading into 2024. You can read the full report by heading here.
