Netflix Greenlit Second Season For Devil May Cry Show

The Devil May Cry IP has remained a beloved franchise for the two decade span the series has withstand since the initial launch. The last entry was Devil May Cry V in 2019. “Overall Devil May Cry 5, like Resident Evil 2 and Monster Hunter World before it is a fantastic entry in a classic franchise.  Modernizing the visuals and story while maintaining the combat depth the series is known for leads to the best case scenario for veterans and newcomers alike,” our review for the game reads.

Around the same time as the game released, Netflix & Castlevania’s Adi Shakar announced that a similar animated treatment is coming to the Capcom franchise. Details for the show did surface periodically like the season runtime since then. But, it was not until earlier this year in 2025 that Netflix officially revealed that the show is airing this spring.

Now with the hype finally calming down from Adi Shakar’s latest project, the Netflix animated series is now officially greenlit for another season. “Get hyped,” Shakar wrote in a message for anticipated fans as part of the announcement. The project was in collaboration with Studio Mir for the first season and is expected to continue partnering for the next release as well.

“There’s a storm brewing in the underworld — and luckily, more Devil May Cry is coming soon. The series has just been renewed for a second season. Stay tuned for more updates,” Netflix penned for the expected window for the new season to arrive. Gathered from the wording, it will not take as long as the first season did to release to fans.

Previously, it appeared that new details did emerge on a new Devil May Cry title. Vergil voice actor Dan Southworth during a panel in 2024 did entertain that he did return to a speaking part he did from 2004; suggesting it could be a remake for Devil May Cry.
