Netflix Partners With Sony Pictures To Feature Films Following Theatrical Release, Tom Holland’s Uncharted Included

While the ten-year campaign for what felt to never arrive is virtually in our reach, the long-promised Uncharted movie is close to its theatrical release. Yes, although the film is not due to release until February next year, that is surely closer than anticipated more than a decade prior. And that is not to mention what else is planned by Sony subsidiary PlayStation Pictures later on.

Recently, followers were granted understanding to the upcoming Twisted Metal series. Although briefly mentioned back during the inception of PlayStation Pictures, it was recently reported that Deadpool & Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are to be hopping aboard for the new project. Ultimately, this is only the surface of the plans ahead as per Sony Interactive Entertainment President & CEO, Jim Ryan.

For what lies ahead following the first box office release, it is revealed by Netflix that in an arrangement with Sony Pictures will feature coming films from the production firm after the theatrical cut, which includes Tom Holland’s Uncharted.

Of course, the arrangement is to also confirm the welcoming of other Sony Pictures films on the way to Netflix after hitting theaters. Those films include Bullet Train, Morbius, and Where the Crawdads Sing alongside anticipated sequels for Bad Boys, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse and Venom.

Similarly, we witnessed a similar collaboration under Warner Bros. which enabled films like Godzilla vs. King Kong, Tom & Jerry, and Mortal Kombat to stream on HBO Max when releasing. But, the Netflix deal will take place after the respected picture releases in theaters.
