Notably, Microsoft over the past week has been recognized for its extreme aggression towards capital acquisition for talent to bolster its first-party division and the evergrowing Xbox Game Pass. From an internal email sent by Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty, Microsoft shared intentions to “purchase PlayStation out of business” in late 2019. Microsoft in a statement to The Verge explained that the quote is outdated and no longer represents the intent of the company.

Additionally, new information has revealed on acquisition plans under Microsoft. In that, the firm did express interest to pursue a deal for Bungie or even Sega at one point. Evidently, Microsoft is shooting for the stars with a $69 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard. Even more, it shared the Xbox firm only paid $117 million for Ninja Theory back in 2018.

A new document from the ongoing Microsoft v FTC hearings reveals there was a list composed of roughly 100+ developers & studios that were considered for development. You can read the list in the image below:

As part of the list, it does comprise of several game studios that Microsoft has and still collaborates with to date. Some in particular being Asobo Studio most noted for its work on Microsoft Flight Simulator, Dontnod Entertainment that shipped Tell Me Why, Crytek which delivered Ryse: Son of Rome, Quantum Bream team Remedy Entertainment, and even Halo creator Bungie once again.

A new deal was struct recently with another listed developer on this list. From a press release by People Can Fly, the developer confirmed a new partnered project with Microsoft is officially in development. Under codename ‘Project Maverick’ is promised to be a new, unique AAA experience. You can read the full report by heading here.
