New January 2022 Release Date For Project Athia Revealed In PlayStation 5 Promo Video At CES

Today, news regarding upcoming and highly-anticipated projects marketed for PlayStation 5 received a major update, In that, many of these games to our understanding are now scheduled with tangible release windows. For instance, it is revealed that Ember Labs’ Kena: Bridge of Spirits is scheduled to release later this spring in March 2021.

The new information comes from the latest PlayStation 5 promotional trailer presented at Sony’s press conference during CES 2021. But, of course, there is still plenty that is addressed for other exciting projects for PlayStation 5’s menu of diverse software. In that, it is revealed that luminous Productions’ Project Athia is set to ship in January 2021.

“Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Part II footage captured on PS4. All other gameplay footage was captured on PS5, the subtext at the end of the promo reads. “Project Athia: January 2022”. It was just last month that a separate PlayStation 5 showcase video that we learned more about the Square Enix-published project. In that, Project Athia would be a unique title for PlayStation 5 for at least two years.

The similar subtext displayed in the December trailer read “not available on other consoles until at least 24 months after release date.” But now, fans have a better understanding as to when the game arrives as next winter will welcome fans to the new intellectual property currently in development.

In the same trailer, it is also revealed that GhoseWire: Tokyo is shipping sometime in October 2021. While not much is offered as to when exactly, the game is to remain unique to PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 despite Bethesda being acquired by Microsoft earlier this fall.
