The current headspace for Microsoft’s new business plans for Xbox continues to send mixed messages to users on other platforms and even its own. While the firm is adamant to continue pursuing hardware in the coming future, the Xbox company is also releasing select number of its titles on other consoles as well. The most recent example of this is MachineGames Indiana Jones and the Great Circle which comes to PlayStation 5 next year.
However, there appears to be certain degree Microsoft is going. Ahead of the proper reveal for Xbox engaging in third-party support on PlayStation & Nintendo, leaker @NatetheHate2 on X did say the plan does not include its high-profile library such as Forza, Halo or Gears. However, other notable franchises owned by Microsoft will still face support. New games such as id Software’s Doom: The Dark Ages as revealed previously.
But according to leaker @eXtas1stv has stated that the effort for support for Xbox games on other systems are to simmer down for the time being. It is gathered that due to the exceedingly negative response by its own users on the PlayStation 5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle that this focus will be tamed for some time.
The leaker does believe that Microsoft certainly is not done with the initiative, however. In the same post, the leaker does believe that the Xbox firm is still eager to pursue this new direction for Xbox releases. But, he does corroborate one thing that Nate The Hate did report. “Halo and Gears are still RED LINES to this day.”
This still remains a confusing time for Xbox and its first-party games. Recently, many are high on speculation of a Halo: Combat Evolved remake thanks to the Unreal Engine 5 reveal for Halo Studios. Plenty of its sample renders include visuals that represent the design of the inaugural title. You can read the full report by heading here.
