Came the airing of the Halo Television Series, fans were excited entering potentially a new era for the video game franchise. And by the time the last episode for Season 1 aired, it was certainly controversial to say the least. And despite the criticisms, it was a success to say the least. Firstly, it was the highest-viewed series on Paramount+ at the time. Even more, John-117 voice actor Steve Downes also praised actor Pablo Schreiber’s performance as well.
Looking ahead, Paramount executive David Nevins told The Hollywood Reporter that there is enough for the company to consider making an entire franchise from the new property. Of course, there is a window to do that if performance continues to surge. We do know that filming already began which shows the pursuit is there. And with it airing in February, it is only left to see if it can truly win back faith from initial fans.
On Thursday, Paramount & Showtime released a new trailer for Halo Season 2. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Master Chief John-117 leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant. As humanity’s best hope for winning the war, John-117 discovers his deep connection to a mysterious alien structure that holds the key to humankind’s salvation, or its destruction — the Halo,” the YouTube description reads. Of course, many of the plot point do illustrate to follow the events for ‘The Fall of Reach’ which predates the original Halo release.
Moreover on Halo transmedia, there was interest from Rebel Moon/Justice League director Zack Snyder to take on the task. While there is no film planned, he did tell he has interest to tackle Gears of War and even Halo if the opportunity did come his way. You can read the full report by heading here.
