Nintendo Switch Now Stands Over 68 Million Units Sold

It is no question how successfully popular the Nintendo Switch is following the marketing, liking of the console, and software unique to the platform. And as Nintendo continues to deliver on its platform with more additions and features, the number of units sold is expected to continue growing. As of this past August, Nintendo Switch overtook 60 million units which the firm shared.

Even more, that number is anticipated to generate more purchases leading into 2021. Not only for this coming holiday season as thirst grows for the Nintendo Switch, but for a potential new model to follow suit. Previously, it was reported that Nintendo is developing a more capable 4K device for the consumer market with next year in mind. The report also suggests that Nintendo is withholding titles to be paired with the unannounced system’s release.

In addition to the new tallied number of Nintendo Switch systems sold, the Japanese firm also released its top 10 selling titles. And surprise surprise, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still stands as the most sold entry on the platform yet again. You can read the full list below:

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 28.99 million
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 26.04 million
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 21.10 million
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 19.74 million
Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield – 19.02 million
Super Mario Odyssey – 18.99 million
Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! – 12.49 million
Super Mario Party – 12.10 million
Splatoon 2 – 11.27 million
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 8.32 million

Nintendo during that also spared that Super Mario 3D All-Stars also performed very well in its short amount of time. In that, the game since arriving in September has already overtaken 5 million units sold. The model of a remastered collection and limited time release illustrates to work and is already being reworked for Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & The Blade of Light which is arriving this December.

Now reiterating for this holiday season, despite the spotlight being shined on the next-generation Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch is suggested to still outsell the competition.
