From developer Hello Games, the firm since its bombastic comeback for No Man’s Sky continues to leave lasting impressions on the video game industry with additions to the game. The team essentially reinvigorated the 2015 release by keeping its word based on the promises that followed up to the title’s release at the time.
This year alone, the firm welcomed the Companions Update which introduced intergalactic tames that will follow you as your traverse the endless sea of stars. Later on in March, Hello Games returned with the Expeditions Update: a new client that overhauls how No Man’s Sky is played with seasonal incentives and new activities to continue pursuing growth when in-game.
But, Hello Games on Friday announced to be welcoming the Normandy SR1. Yes, the iconic vessel from Mass Effect is bridging the two games in a new exciting crossover! You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“For the last week the No Man’s Sky community have worked together on the new Beachhead expedition, solving the puzzle of its hidden and encrypted goals,” Sean Murray, studio lead shares. “Today is a lovely moment, as explorers are discovering that at the end of this mystery is the appearance of the legendary SSV Normandy SR1 from Mass Effect!”
Murray continues by adding, “We are thrilled and flattered that BioWare and EA let us pay tribute in this way. As huge fans of the series, it’s a lovely moment for sci-fi fans. Like everyone else we’ve been rediscovering the amazing universe of Mass Effect through the release of the Legendary Edition. I still have chills every time I see this incredibly iconic ship warping in, and was delighted to see so many people have the same reaction.”
In regards to additions and Mass Effect Legendary Edition, there is supposed plans for more to come to the trilogy later on potentially. When speaking to CNET, BioWare Project Director Mac Walters explained that the team could support multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 as fans and the team are in favor of making it happen.
