For players anticipating the release of the PlayStation VR 2 headset, it is for sure going to bring the virtual reality platform from Sony to a new level. However, there is a caveat to this device – there’s no backwards compatibility. At least it won’t at launch. Not to mention President & CEO Jim Ryan mentioning only two dozen titles will be primed at its initial release is somewhat underwhelming knowing how many more are on preceding hardware.

As for what is confirmed for the new device, Sony Interactive Entertainment does have some exciting & unique content. From Guerrilla Games, Horizon: Call of the Mountain is one from its first-party studios. Additionally, follow-up Firewall Ultra is also in development from First Strike Games too.

In a recent discovery from Eurogamer, No Man’s Sky is prepared to launch for the device come its release previously confirmed for February 2023. “The power of the PlayStation 5 coupled with the all new PlayStation VR2 hardware, including the new Sense controllers, combine together to take the sense of immersion and believability up another level. Coming February 2023,” the finding reads.

Noted, it is no news that No Man’s Sky is coming to the platform. Previously, the game was slated for the new system alongside Resident Evil 8 and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution. What makes this new discovery more interesting is that the game is primed for launch this winter.

Furthermore on the lineup coming next year, Sony Interactive Entertainment featured a dozen of the titles for the PlayStation VR 2 to be new content. In the blog post then, the firm listed games The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, Cities VR – Enhanced Edition, Crossfire: Sierra Squad, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, Jurassic World Aftermath Collection, and Pistol Whip VR.
