Less than a month ago Microsoft hosted X018 in Mexico City, a two-day all Xbox event revealing new details on anything surrounding the platform’s involvement. One of the announcements confirming the acquisition of Obsidian Entertainment which has been rumored for nearly a month prior to the event.
Now more recently the host for this year’s The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley has announced on Twitter that the California-based studio will be present at the awards ceremony alongside Take-Two’s Private Division. For those unaware, Private Division is a publishing label for independent studios. Despite the recent acquisition under Microsoft, this must have already been established well before the talks of the developer’s acquiring occurred.

Soon after, the studio’s official Twitter hinted at The Game Awards tweet and to check out their website regarding the “ads on obsidian.net???”. Where fans when clicking the link met them with a countdown timer leading towards the awards ceremony on December 6th.
Hmmm… anyone else getting those ads on https://t.co/i158nrCxBL???

After closing the clock you are instantly met with an ad “Brought to you by: Spacer’s Choice”, with a short jingle that plays with it as you read it. Paying homage towards post-World War II advertising, which we saw previously from the studio with Fallout: New Vegas. Though many fans are eagerly waiting for a sequel to the 2010 title, Obsidian has confirmed that the chances of seeing the anticipated title is “very doubtful” to happen. For what we can expect from the studio will be determined this Friday since no other details have been revealed for the soon to be announced title.
It was previously rumored that we might also receive an announcement for the unannounced Aliens: Blackout according to a trademark discovered prior and a recent tweet from the show’s host.
The Game Awards will be live streamed on their official Twitch this Thursday at 6 PM PST / 9 PM EST.
