Octopath Traveler II Aims For Xbox Release In 2024

Thus far from publisher Square Enix, the firm did the seemingly improbable with the
announcement for Final Fantasy XIV Online coming to Xbox. Roughly a decade since the launch
of the live-service title, the game is officially coming to Microsoft’s console next year with
anticipation of the upcoming ‘Dawntrail’ expansion as well in 2024.

Additionally, Square Enix Takashi Kiryu expressed that a new effort on behalf of the publisher to
support Xbox moving forward. “We are planning to bring our games to Xbox for players around
the world to enjoy,” he shared then. While little has manifested in terms of projects making its
way to Xbox yet, fans are hoping for the likes of Final Fantasy VII Remake or Final Fantasy XVI
being confirmed.

During the Xbox Tokyo Game Show presentation, Square Enix announces Octopath Traveler II
is coming to Xbox next year. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“Xbox’s Sarah Bond appeared on stage to help introduce the upcoming Xbox release of Square
Enix’s Octopath Traveler II. Sarah revealed that, in the last five years, Xbox has more than
doubled the number of Japanese games released on our platforms, and introduced a special
message from Square Enix Vice President of Creative Business Unit II, Yu Miyake. Miyake
announced that its beautiful HD-2D RPG, Octopath Traveler II will arrive on Xbox platforms in
early 2024,” the Xbox Wire post reads.

Previously, Microsoft did orchestrate some ties with Square Enix on the original Octopath
Traveler. In that, the game hit Xbox back in 2021. What came as a bigger surprise is that when
the game broke its chains from Nintendo Switch, PlayStation was not part of the roadmap. You
