Paramount Signs Deal Towards Crush40’s ‘Live And Learn’ For Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Movie

Since the second film hit theaters back in spring 2022, fans for Sonic the Hedgehog patiently sat for Paramount to give the first reveal for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The biggest aspect that generates hype for the third Sonic film is the introduction of Shadow the Hedgehog. Partly, there will be a full backstory for the character; insiders report to have portions of the movie set in Westopolis. Additionally, the faceoff against Sonic which is even more exciting if Hayden Christensen is confirmed for the role.

As for the current developments on Sonic the Hedgehog 3, it is confirmed that the film is coming this December in winter 2024. Furthermore, it was recently announced that Jim Carrey is to reprise his role as Dr. Robotnik once more. This is the first Carrey in his career returns for a trilogy. One report also indicates that Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad, Jessica Jones) is to voice Rouge the Bat in the new movie.

According to a new report, licensed music is planned for the coming film adaptation. In an interview with Aftermath, Crush40 American vocalist Johnny Gioeli shares that Paramount has signed a deal to use the climatic song from Sonic Adventure 2 ‘Live and Learn’ for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. “I have indeed signed a deal with Paramount for song placement. “How they will use it is strictly up to them. … Paramount now has the legal right to use ‘Live and Learn’ in any manner they feel necessary.”

As of writing, there is no definite understanding on what Paramount Studios plans to use the song for the in the film directly. In the 2022 movie, the firm did utilize the original Sonic the Hedgehog theme as an easter egg ringtone, but fans are hoping that it gets a larger presence – Gioeli too. “Let’s hope the movie does the song justice. This milestone doesn’t at all feel like it’s for me,” he said. “It’s for the fans who have supported and endured the wait!”

Note, we did get a sample of what Paramount Studios has done with Live and Learn already from the teaser. Near the end, you can hear a remixed version of the riffs when revealing the title card. However, it is anticipated that the vocal song will be present presumably during a major battle in some part of the film.
