The ongoing development is where will Xbox be moving forward. Although Microsoft has stated its efforts are reshaping for the foreseeable future, users continue to feel uncertain about this direction. Previously, it was confirmed that new hardware is on the way. Additionally, it was even confirmed that a portable peripheral is even being tested internally at Microsoft also.

From Phil Spencer, he has gone on the record to state that one aspect that Xbox is eager to differentiate itself from competition is hardware. Alongside cross-buy, the firm does reassure that your commitment to Xbox will be paramount amid this refocus for the platform. But, with a borderless platform for its titles, many do still remain anxious on if Xbox is to stay while its titles slowly release elsewhere.

In a recent interview on the XboxEra Podcast, Spencer did reiterate on those vocal about the uncertain future of Xbox. He nods to security for your library and says that initiative is to be carried moving forward. You can watch the segment of the podcast in the video below:

“I think we’ve shown respect for people’s libraries over the generations with back compat & Play Anywhere and I want to continue to do that. You can buy every game that is in Game Pass […] we’re not trying to funnel everybody into one business model – play the game you want to play them. We obviously have to run a good business so we’ll have our pricing and everything we do. But, I want to make as many options as possible for the games that we have so that they find more and more players.”

From the same podcast, Spencer did also reveal new information on future Xbox showcases. Although presented by Xbox itself, both Nintendo & PlayStation logos will be included in the showcase for upcoming releases moving forward. You can read the full report by heading here.
