
As an annual tradition, a new Call of Duty game comes each year. For 2021, Sledgehammer Games returns from being a support developer to helm the latest entry – Call of Duty: Vanguard. In its reveal, the game studio showcases yet another return to the World War II era for the series, however, it was soon discovered that the newest game will utilize the same engine utilized for Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).
But as it is fate for a new game each year, it is also the same for unique content for its marketed partner, PlayStation. Previously, the firm in its agreement held exclusive rights to Survival Ops for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) before. Then the year following, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War offered Zombies Onslaught for its PlayStation players.
However, this year’s Call of Duty: Vanguard does not bring a new mode only for PlayStation users. Instead, players are to receive extra goodies for the multiplayer portion of the game. That includes early access to the new Pacific Warzone come season 1 alongside additives such as XP Boosts and extra create a class slots.
In addition to the extra tier skips PlayStation players receive by purchasing the Battle Pass bundle, there are additional benefits. Exclusive to PlayStation Plus members, players will get a free in-game bundle to celebrate Season One of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. This pack will include a new Operator Skin, Weapon Blueprint, and much more. A new free bundle will be available during each Call of Duty: Vanguard season.
Also, in the spirit of teamwork, PlayStation players that play together in parties receive +25% bonus weapon XP. Additionally, PlayStation players can look forward to exclusive Monthly Double XP events, lasting 24 hours in duration each. Finally, to make sure you’re ready for whatever your enemies throw at you, PlayStation players get an additional two loadout slots.

Originally, the launch trailer for the game indicated that Call of Duty: Vanguard would feature unique content for PlayStation players. “PS players receive bonus content and benefits not available on other platforms until November 1, 2022,” the subtext at the end of the trailer reads.
As for the perk for being a PlayStation owner, you also get a whole 24 hours of the new Warzone Pacific mode before other systems. “Vanguard owners will get the opportunity to have 24 hours of exclusive first play access to Caldera starting on December 2,” Noel explains.
