In the ongoing support that Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to pump into the long-running PlayStation Now, progress in its user base continues to show. While not in the lengths that Xbox Game Pass is at currently, the service proved to grow by one-third this past May. Additionally, corporate Sony is aiming to support both Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon Forbidden West according to the same report.
Atop of that, advancements in streaming tech over at the PlayStation company welcomed the option for 1080p for its users. Not to mention the continued flow of titles that are hitting the service as well. For the month of June 2021, Sony Interactive Entertainment featured Car Mechanic Simulator, Slay the Spire, Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania, Team Sonic Racing, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown.
As part of a previous announcement from the first Sonic Central presentation, fans expect more games in following showcases from Sony Interactive Entertainment. Now for July 2021, those new additions are:
God of War
Nascar Heat 5
Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
Red Dead Redemption 2
As for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s plans to expand its streaming platforms, the firm’s upcoming cloud service is said to be a unique subsidiary to the PlayStation ecosystem. So while Microsoft is expanding its presence to new users, the PlayStation cloud program underway internally is said to feature similar characteristics as it does with its own proprietary consoles already.
From Sony Interactive Entertainment this past week, the firm announced two acquisitions: Housemarque & Nixxes. However, not all is as it might seem. While PlayStation Japan initially tweeted that the firm also acquired Bluepoint Games, the studio later indicated itself to be an independent team despite the claim.
