Prices are expected to go up when it comes to gaming consoles and lots of other hardware. This is due to the recent tariff situation going on around the world as of late. Just last weekend, Sony announced that PlayStation 5 prices will be rising in Europe, New Zealand, and Australia.
It looks like the PlayStation Plus prices have risen once again, at least for Canada. It was first spotted by Wario64 on X (Twitter) that the 1-year plans will go up. Below are the prices:
Essential PS Plus – Originally $94.99 CAD New Price: $109.99 CAD
Extra PS Plus – Originally $154.99 CAD New Price: $189.99 CAD
Premium PS Plus Originally $189.99 CAD New Price: $224.99
Sony has not made any official announcement regarding this, but it looks like this is an official move by them. While it’s a digital service from Sony, this could still be an impact from the tariffs going around.
In other news, Nintendo has not released the Switch 2 pre-orders in the United States and Canada due to the tariffs. It is rumored, though, that pre-orders will be going live sometime next week.
The PlayStation 5 Prices have not been increased in North America yet, but that could change quickly.
