For players avidly returning to the Pokémon IP, then you are more than aware of the lineup that came over these past few months. Rewinding back to fall last year, The Pokémon Company delivered the long-requested Generation 4 remake for Pokémon Diamond & Pokémon Pearl with respective Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl then. But, there was more slated for the following year.
Entering into 2022 was welcomed with a unique experience that many fans awaited for years to make it to a Nintendo console: an open-world story for players to explore and of course catch Pokémon in. Yes, I’m speaking about Pokémon Legends Arceus: the newest release rewinds the clock back to the Feudal era of the Sinnoh Region back when Pokéballs were still made out of wood.
From the recent Pokémon Presents livestream on Sunday, The Pokémon Company has announced a new installment is coming. In that, Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet were revealed sharing the three new starters for the game. You can view the image in the photo below:

“Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet take a new evolutionary step in the Pokémon main series. Trainers can explore an open world where various towns with no borders blend seamlessly into the wilderness. Pokémon can be seen everywhere in this wide-open world—in the skies, in the sea, and on the streets,” the press release shares.
“As one of the main characters, Trainers will jump into the world of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet to begin their adventure, where they will have a different outfit depending on which game they are playing. Trainers will then choose either Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon, Fuecoco, the Fire Croc Pokémon, or Quaxly, the Duckling Pokémon to be their first partner Pokémon before setting off on their journey.
Elaborating more on the new region is still left vacant as of writing. What can be gathered from the teaser trailer is that it will be a new costal territory that players will be able to explore resembling Spain. Additionally, the games were both slated to arrive later this year which is certainly not too far away.
In terms of other Pokémon on the way, The Pokémon Company featured a new Pokémon Trading Card experience that is slated to come to Android & iOS as well as PC later on. You can read the full report by heading here.
