Over at Apple, the launch of the iPhone 15 has brought a new meaning to gaming for its smartphones. While the widespread iOS does enable game emulation across supported devices, there is more underway for its newer models. Specifically the iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max, these new devices can run new releases natively. We recently saw this with the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage earlier in June.
Additionally, Capcom has a fairly large stake in this effort too. One of the first showcased titles for this endeavor was Resident Evil 8 Village. And that was just the start of this push from the Japanese publisher. In a later update, Capcom revealed that its 2023 release Resident Evil 4 Remake would be also facing the same support on iOS.
Now in a recent announcement this month, Capcom shares that Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is the next title to hit iOS in a scheduled release for July. What’s more, Capcom also mentions a planned release for Resident Evil 2 Remake is also on the way. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Powered by Capcom’s RE ENGINE, both games provide console quality experiences running natively on Apple silicon across Apple devices. These beloved titles utilize Apple’s MetalFX Upscaling technology to deliver impressive visuals and remarkable performance on iPhone, iPad, and Mac,” an overview from Capcom reads, thanks Gematsu.
“The iPhone and iPad versions of Resident Evil 7 biohazard will include enhanced controls with a new Auto Fire feature. This addition provides players with an approachable option to automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies for a set period of time. Compatible Bluetooth controllers are also supported for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, offering an experience mirroring home consoles.”
