This year’s show at The Game Awards continues to embrace the Souls-like genre. Nearing the end of the annual ceremony at the 2023 show, Heishenhua revealed that the long-anticipated Black Myth: Wukong is set to arrive later this summer in 2024. However, there is another game of the shared genre that players are very excited to see come out of Team Ninja.
Previously, the Japanese developer alongside Koei Tecmo & Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a new collaborative project coming to PlayStation 5 – Rise of the Ronin. Originally, the game was revealed as action-adventure taking place in the late 19th century. Now, the new trailer showcases that as such at The Game Awards.
Even more, it shares the release is not too far; shipping this March in 2024. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“We’ve been hard at work since we announced this title in September last year, spurred on by the excitement that our players have voiced since then. As a title, Rise of the Ronin features a historical setting quintessential to Koei Tecmo, while brimming with Team Ninja’s own brand of action and combat,” Team Ninja director and president Fmihiko Yasuda writes.
“Throughout creating our biggest game to date, we have been working alongside the team at SIE to create an experience that allows players to fully embody a Ronin during the closing days of the Tokugawa Shogunate.” Additionally, pre-orders for the game will go live for PlayStation 5 on December 14th.
