Playground Games has been working on the next installation of the Fable franchise over the last few years and a new rumor is going around that the game has been completely restarted internally. Playground Games, who are known for their work on the Forza Horizon series were given the task by Microsoft to work on Fable in 2020.

This rumor comes from 4chan and its stated that the game was deemed unplayable by most of the team. They will be starting from scratch in unreal and this means the old Forzatech version will never see the light of day. As of 2022 the Forzatech version was a quarter of the way done and the new expected release window is Q4 2024.

As always we have to take these rumors and leaks with a grain of salt until something is officially said. But it would make sense that something was going on with Fable since we haven’t seen anything new with the project since its initial tease in 2020.

It was recently reported that upcoming Xbox exclusive, Redfall will be launching in the first week of May 2023.

Are you excited to see what’s next for Fable?
