Microsoft Officially Announces New Fable Title For Xbox Series X & PC

For the fans that have been following the Fable series more closely in recent weeks, there has been several hints pointing towards the series making a return for the next-generation on Xbox. The largest indication that lead to major suspicion on the game’s approaching reveal first resulted from users online discovering that the unannounced title had a locked Twitter handle, @Fable.

At the same time of the finding, users also unearthed a similar profile, but this being for Perfect Dark. Following the recent profiles surfacing online, fans of the series also dug up a trademark filing from Microsoft for Fable in the United States shortly after. The second discovery suggested that a reveal could be soon with the project being unveiled at the coming Xbox Games Showcase.

Exciting, that ended up being the case as Microsoft revealed the project when closing out the virtual presentation. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

Despite the project essentially being tossed around as a rumor since early 2018, there is not much for context of the new title. “Fable returns with a new beginning for the legendary franchise. Explore a land of fantastical creatures and wondrous places,” the trailer description discloses.

Taken from the titling of the new project, it is speculated that this new Fable game could be a revamp of the original series to reiterate on the original story done by Lionhead Studios. With the original game being released all the way back in 2004, it would be logical for a new take on the classic series in efforts to align the excitement of Fable with the next-generation standards of gaming.

Did you hope Fable would receive an announcement today?
