This coming Friday will reintroduce yet another hallmark entry for the Resident Evil series with the Resident Evil 3 Remake. Although fans are anticipating for the day to arrive counting to this weekend, rumors have already emerged on the next project from Capcom – regarding the next mainline installment.

If you recall a rumor that emerged back in January, an influx of news regarding the potential premise for Resident Evil 8 leaked onto the internet. Sharing elements ranging from the medieval setting to plausible reoccurring enemy that the player will face, these claims still stand to still just be rumors. But to layer on top of what we already know, the next additions is that the game could possibly be a cross-gent project.

According to well-known Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem or @AestheticGamer1 on Twitter, the user sheds light on the matter of the next project slated for the franchise. Upon classing the game to be releasing sometime in 2021, Dusk Golem tells that the game will also be arriving to multiple generational platforms.

Elsewhere in a separate tweet, the Twitter poster went on to disclose that the game has already been in development, as you would expect, since the end of 2016. Right before the release of Resident Evil 7 the game is said to have officially begun development, Dusk Golem tells the game did not commence production until half a year later. They then go on to reference the game in similarity to 1999’s Resident Evil 3, but did not elaborate on the comparison.

Ending the thread, however, Dusk Golem explained that this game is expected to upset some fans that are planning on playing the next entry. It is speculated that they are referring to the return to first-person peripheral that was adopted in the 2017 installment for the series as it was a change of pace for Resident Evil. The claim of the game continuing the first-person angle for gameplay corresponds with the previously made claim from January.

While not much clarification went into place for this game that we would have hoped, the Twitter user did say that the game is “really soon” from announcement. As always though, it is suggested that all conjecture is taken with little ounce belief as fact until properly revealed by the respected party.
