PlayStation exclusive title Persona 5 has been out on both current and previous gen platforms since 2016, and many have praised the game to be the best iteration of the series even up to this day. For those unfortunate enough not to have played the title yet, your chances to finally delve into the role-playing game might have a better chance now, at least for Nintendo Switch.
Back in 2018 a domain titled “P5R.JP” surfaced and left many fans questioning what the unannounced Persona project might unravel to be. A more obvious idea left in speculation is that the title will be a revamped version of the original title bundled with more features and gameplay interactions. Prior to the domain’s discovery in 2017, an Atlas employee posted a survey asking fans which pitched Persona titles might suit them following Persona 5. One listed read as “Persona 5 with added scenarios and new elements”.
Now more recently the domain recently updated, suggesting that a Nintendo Switch version might have an imminent announcement. Looking at the previous survey from the developer, this might start to arrange the pieces of the undiscussed project as Atlus is notorious for reworking previous titles for newer hardware. Most recently looking at Catherine: Full Body (which also features a Persona 5 crossover) is inbound for next year exclusively for Japan.
The only other proof that this unannounced title might become a reality for Nintendo’s console is the recent announcement earlier this month of the game’s character Joker being revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC roster. Though it isn’t a concrete enough foundation to put all faith into the rumor, it’s also worth noting that the Atlus has some Persona titles already available on the Nintendo 3DS like Persona Q2.
Persona 5 is available for PlayStation 3 & 4.
