Believe it or not, Sea of Thieves is close to reaching five years-old later this April. Originally in our review for the game we wrote: “A game where the visuals and moment-to moment adventures keep the game new and exciting, despite not actually having anything deep to do or say, then you will adore this game. Every time I pick up this game, I have fun, especially with friends and I cannot wait for what the future holds.”
Of course, this was prior to the onslaught of updates that flooded the game and even more before the transition to season-based content releases for the game. The most recent title update shipped back in December which improved on the PvP aspect for Sea of Theives with additional changes to the feature beyond life as well.
Now this week, Sea of Thieves is celebrating its birthday with a boat load of new quality of life improvements to the game. You can watch the content update video below:
For starters, Sea of Thieves come the commencement of Season Nine on Thursday will feature a bevy of world changes to the game. This includes more interactive experiences out at sea such as kraken encounters, megalodon battles, and even shipwrecks to be more prevalent.
