While a decade went by and publisher Electronic Arts went ahead allowing the Skate IP to expire its trademark, there was still hope that the franchise would make a comeback in the coming years. With Dead Space received a remake slated for this January, there certainly is the potential that Skate could face the same amount of detail as well. And, it actually did happen back in early 2021.
Since then, developer Full Circle – the dedicated team working on the next Skate project – has update anticipated followers on the title. While no gameplay was shown for the game in the first trailer, the buildup only gets players more excited. Even more, Full Circle revealed that Skate will also be shipping on PC in a separate update shortly after.
In a new trailer that went live recently, we get a better gist on what Skate will offer with “Pre-Pre-Pre Alpha Footage” of the game. Additionally, Full Circle has launched sign-ups for playtesting of the new game as well. You can watch the video below:
“We told you we’re back, and we’re still working on it – but it’s time for you to see what we’ve been up to. It’s still early, but we want to get this right and that means we want you to be a part of it,” the website reads. “As a skate. insider, you have the chance to play early versions of the game and provide feedback throughout our development journey. We need to scale access to skate. gradually as development progresses to ensure a smooth experience, and that means we can’t guarantee how soon you’ll get to play.
In the official FAQ, Full Circle presses the playtests will be hosted on PC, however, that will branch out to other platforms as the team is ready to move to console. “as we expand testing to more platforms we will continue to invite more players on those platforms.”
