What felt like a dormant and purposefully forgotten IP by Konami is now preparing to launch this fall. Yes, we’re talking about the remake for Silent Hill 2. Developed by Layers of Fear developer Bloober Team, it is a new realized version of the classic 2001 release for PlayStation 5 & PC. The game studio confirmed that its release is slated for October next month.
And with little until the game officially arrives, there is other information that has rolled out since then. In August, it was revealed that the playtime for Silent Hill 2 asks for about “16-18 hours” of your time for a single playthrough. According to creative director Mateusz Lenart, he shared in a post on X that completing everything could easily tread into 20+ hours which is more than the original version.
In a new ‘Immersion’ trailer for Silent Hill 2, it lays out the landscape for the return to the classic PlayStation 2 title. More specifically, fans were anxious to point out the information at the end of the video. In that, it indicates that Silent Hill 2 is only exclusive to PlayStation 5 until October 2025. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Also available on PC. Not available on other formats until 10.08.2025,” the subtext at the end of the trailer reads. What’s more interesting is that Silent Hill 2 is already prepared to release for PC upon release next month. While other PlayStation timed exclusives typically insinuate a PC release after, it only narrows for to likely an Xbox version likely by 2026.
Although Silent Hill 2 is not a multiplatform release on consoles, there is another Konami title that will be. Konami announced Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater which is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. There is currently no planned release for the game as of writing.
