While developer Rebellion just carried out its latest release for Sniper Elite, Sniper Elite VR, the team is still working on its prior releases. Already, the team previously shipped a next-generation upgrade for Zombie Army 4: Dead War. In that, Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 can indulge in better performance and a higher resolution for no additional cost.

However, the team is also doing the same for the previous Sniper Elite 4 as well. Launching back in 2017 and this past fall for Nintendo Switch, the game since has been idling as players await the next mainline installment for the series to arrive. Now, users can revisit the fourth entry in the series while awaiting the next game to arrive from Rebellion.

You can watch the new trailer for Sniper Elite 4 in the video below:

“Available to download now, the update delivers gorgeous visuals up to 4K on PS5 and Xbox Series X, super smooth 60 frames per second gameplay and greatly improved load times, making this the definitive Sniper Elite 4 experience,” developer Rebellion writes in the announcement post for the new update.

Simultaneously, Crystal Dynamics shipped a next-generation update for Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Friday this week as well. Similarly, players can revisit the 2018 release and experience it with an increased performance cap and higher resolution for the last game of the trilogy. And alike Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Sniper Elite 4 was a previous PlayStation Plus free game back in fall 2020.

More so on the release of Sniper Elite VR, our critic David Rodriguez shared his experience to be a fine release from Rebellion. “Sniper Elite VR is a nice shooter and worthy of the series it came from. Maybe we will see a sequel of some sort, because as a first shot, this VR experience has far more ups than downs.” You can read the full review by heading here.

Do you plan to revisit Sniper Elite 4?

Sniper Elite 4 is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch; available via backwards compatibility for Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5.
