Since the unveiling of the PlayStation 5, Sony has developed multiple products for the newest console. For one, the DualSense controller is at the forefront of this endeavor creating a new experience unlike any controller before it. Enough so that even Microsoft is reportedly prototyping its own take on the gamepad for Xbox now.
Additionally, there was a whole lineup of products prepared at launch for the new PlayStation 5 in 2020. Not to mention the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset alongside the upcoming PlayStation VR 2 on the horizon later in February. Sony also went in a new direction creating its own line of gaming peripherals with Inzone which launched back in mid 2022 last year.
Now according to a new report from Insider Gaming, the PlayStation 5 is to be welcoming its own unique wireless earbuds. Codenamded ‘Nomad’, the new earbuds is said to offer a battery life just short of the Sony WF-1000XM3. The product is said to also come with its own charging case and a USB-C cable. The same means for charging said device is also implied to be plugged into the console to offer updates as well.
In the same report, a wireless headset is also being proposed as well. ‘Voyager’ is told to be similar to the Inzone H7 Headset. Similar to the earbuds, a price has yet to be given. Howbeit, a release window for FY23 is suggested for both devices. Insider Gaming believes the two products are being prepared to launch with the new PlayStation 5 model reported previously.
In that, the report told a new revision for the PlayStation 5 will not include a disc drive for the new system. Instead, users will be encouraged to make digital purchases or to purchase a separate USB-C external disc player licensed by Sony. The new revision is understood to ship in September 2023.
