Sony Shares Confidence In PlayStation 5 Market Performance, Tells To Witness Sales Upon Launch

As far as we know regarding the approaching PlayStation 5, there is not much to expand on the system aside from core components for the console. It wasn’t until this past week that we got a small sample of the capabilities that the hardware can achieve with its in-house developed SSD that’s notoriously being touted for the approaching unit. However, there is still plenty we have to learn about the PlayStation 5 prior to its arrival this holiday season.

But even this early with information still being withheld from distribution on the system, Sony shares to say otherwise on the unfavorable lack of details in contrast to the Xbox Series X with its amount of stage time recently. According to an interview with Bloomberg, Sony tells to be very confident in the outcome of its hardware’s performance once it hits the market in the latter of this year.

Speaking with Bloomberg’s Takashi Mochizuki, Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki suggests keeping a close eye to PlayStation 5 sales figures later on.

Although plenty is uncertain of the PlayStation 5 as of yet, the firm has readdressed now three times that the company plans to ship the next-generation console later this holiday season. The most recent statement took place in its FY19 finance report where the company shares that “development is progressing” forward for the PlayStation 5 to release on the end of 2020.

Elsewhere, there are also reports of the system to receive its own respected presentation sometime in June. Previously, Bloomberg Tech reporter Jason Schreier hinted that the supposed press conference to spare details on the new system is slated in a “few more weeks.” But in a more recent podcast, Schreier reiterates on his statement by claiming that the supposed event will be taking place in the middle of June next month.

Despite the restrictions that were established to combat the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Sony shares to still be set on delivering the next iteration of PlayStation this year. The same can also be said for Microsoft’s Xbox Series X. Recently, Xbox head Phil Spencer told that the pandemic will be ineffective to the release of the hardware, but he stresses that the same story cannot be told for its respected hardware for the safety of the Xbox Game Studios’ teams.
