This year so far has been showing to be in favor for Microsoft fans as the console giant has been very confident disclosing portions of information regarding the approaching Xbox Series X. And while we have a full understanding of what the hardware will be exactly, we still have little to no knowledge regarding the competing PlayStation 5 from Sony. Although we are familiar with the name, of course, and the listed Godfall from Gearbox Software & Counterlay Games is the only unique property announced for the new system.
More surface that Sony covered previously retracts back to January during the Consumer Electronics Event (CES) where the company introduced the logo for the next-generation hardware. While the reveal might be lack luster as a base for an anticipated announcement, the post on Instgram swiftly rose to becoming the most influential gaming-related post in history.
Now earlier today, Sony announced on the PlayStation Twitter that there will be more to share on the hardware’s specification structure tomorrow in a post to be made on PlayStation Blog tomorrow. You can read the full tweet below:
Anticipating what exactly will be presented will be similar to what Microsoft has shown off so far: technical properties and elements that differentiate the consoles from its predecessors. Aspects like the amount of RAM that the unit will be comprised of alongside the GPU and CPU. Entailed from the wording of the post, I would not be expecting the company to reveal the actual model for the hardware this time around.
The same can also be suggested for pricing as Microsoft has yet to do so either. Even more, Sony has been reported to be withholding the cost of the PlayStation 5 for Microsoft to make the first move to combat in response. Although the tactic is efficient, it will be troubling for how the act will unravel seeing that Sony has also been told to issue cost-heavy manufacturing fees for the approaching console due to scarce components.
While it is still uncertain how much the both units will cost exactly, we are aware that at least on is still being scheduled to arrive this coming holiday season. Microsoft yesterday reaffirmed that the company will still be aiming for a launch sometime in the latter of 2020. While the concern surrounding the COVID-19 ailment continues to rise, it is undetermined what the future will hold for the PlayStation 5 release date.
