Last week, we finally got official word that Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will officially go live on April 24, 2025, in the United States and Canada. Walmart, GameStop, Target, and Best Buy will be among the major retailers that will have pre-orders available.
Walmart, Target, and Best Buy will have Switch 2 pre-orders go live at 12:00 AM ET on April 24, while GameStop pre-orders will go live at 11 AM ET online and at store opening in-store.
Mario Kart World, along with other day-one games and Switch 2 accessories, will become available for pre-order on the same day. It was reported that GameStop will have about 100 consoles available per location, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Will Amazon have the Switch 2 available for pre-order?
Amazon in the United States is not expected to have the Nintendo Switch 2 for pre-order. That also goes for any of its first-party games. This has been noticeable over the last year as Amazon has not listed any official Switch product on its website.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will cost $449.99, while the Mario Kart World bundle will cost $499.99.
