The Callisto Protocol Storyline Break Ties To PUBG Universe, Studio Lead Reveals

As many are aware, the lineage of Glen Schofield is quite interesting regarding the turn of projects he rolled out. While notably making traction as an Executive Producer for Visceral Games’ Dead Space, he later transitioned into a new entity: Sledgehammer Games. The firm went on to assist in development for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and later released Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare followed by Call of Duty: WWII.

Moving forward, he shared his plans in the industry would to leave behind Sledgehammer Games for a new team under the PUBG banner – Striking Distance. More interesting was to unveil that the first project Schofield is helming at this new team will be The Callisto Protocol: a spiritual successor to the EA-owned property. Even more interesting is that it was suggested to be connected to the PUBG universe initially.

However, connecting the battle royale to a outer space thriller could be tiresome to attempt. And as an end result was recently shared to be scrapped and made its own plot separate from the multiplayer game, Schofield shared on Twitter.

Despite that, we do have a better understanding for how The Callisto Protocol will stand. During the recent PlayStation State of Play last week, we got our first real-time glance at the game. And, it does shape up to be Schofield’s most ambitious project yet. Additionally, there is a scheduled gameplay demo to take place at Summer Game Fest later this week for anticipated fans.
