The next Tomb Raider to be fully open world and set in India

The next Tomb Raider might be around the corner with new rumors suggesting its setting and other features. According to V Scooper on X (Twitter), the upcoming Tomb Raider game will be set in India and will be a fully open-world experience. It will feature “vast sceneries, free use of the motorcycle, parachute, and common Lara’s traversal methods”.

The leaker goes on to share more details about the setting – A natural disaster strikes northern India revealing ancient emperor Ashoka’s ruins and artifacts. Lara strategically races against a Society of Raiders and other rivals for these powerful relics.

Next month there will be multiple presentations including the Xbox Games Showcase and in that time we could see Tomb Raider make an appearance somewhere. Summer Game Fest will take place on June 7, 2024, featuring announcements on upcoming games and updates on already released titles.

Amazon has leased the rights to Tomb Raider from Embracer Group in a $600 million deal that included Tomb Raider Remasters and other projects in development.
