Predating back to March of this year, developer Obsidian Entertainment brought an abrupt surprise with the announcement for the final DLC for The Outer Worlds, Murder on Eridanos. However, the completing of the post-launch campaign for The Outer Worlds goes on to suggest the developer is preparing to unveil the second game fairly soon.
Already, industry insider and Niko Partners’ analyst David Ahmad on Twitter previously disclosed to hear whispers of a second installment already entering the pipeline. But for more context on the follow-up, it is gathered from a press release provided by publisher Private Division which brings more to the table. For certainty, it is suspected that the new title will be unique to Xbox since Xbox Game Studios is to handle the funding for the project.
Alongside Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty also corroborating the suspicions previously, it is only due time for a reveal. At the Xbox-Bethesda E3 Showcase, Obsidian Entertainment unveiled The Outer Worlds 2. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“Taking place in a new star system with a new crew, we are excited to bring everyone back to The Outer Worlds franchise. And, fans of The Outer Worlds should always remember – It’s not the best choice. It’s Spacer’s Choice,” Feargus Urquhart, Obsidian Entertainment Studio head comments on the announcement.
