Last week, console giant Microsoft held its Xbox Games Showcase to present some of the major projects that are underway for launch and following after the arrival for the Xbox Series X later this holiday season. Presenting mainline properties like the highly-anticipated Halo Infinite and the official return of Fable with Playground Games at the wheel for the notorious RPG for the next-generation of gaming.
However, it appeared one well-recognized property missed the presentation according to a recent finding in Brazil. Discovered by Gematsu, the Brazil Ministry of Justice rated World of Warcraft: Shadowlands for Xbox Series X alongside the PC version already confirmed for the expansion’s release.
Announced back at Blizzcon this past November, Shadowlands will continue to push the envelope of World of Warcraft’s darker tone in storytelling as the newest journey is set in the “realm of the afterlife”, as Blizzard Entertainment would like to put it lightly. It was presumed the new paid add-on would ship uniquely to PC, but now it seems the coming Xbox console will receive the downloadable content as well.
Or, that is what you might assume. However, it wasn’t long until the developer confirmed with Polygon that the listing was an “error” and not intentional. “We currently have no plans to bring World of Warcraft or Shadowlands to Xbox Series X.
“The platform was listed on the Brazil Ministry of Justice rating website in error, and the entry has since been updated to reflect that the game is coming only to PC.” Taken from the statement that the recent listing was simply an accident on behalf of the ratings board, console users are left in the rain unfortunately. However, despite the developer denouncing the listing now, the firm does not rule out the possibility of the game’s arrival later on.
Would you play World of Warcraft on console or stick to PC?
