
At least since the show’s debut in late 2019, fans new and old are excited for what is to follow The Witcher on Netflix. At the time, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received a record-breaking influx of users following the series’ airing on Netflix. So excitement is an understatement for when Netflix is prepared to share more information on Season 2.
Later on, Netflix did confirm a spin-off, six episode series is also in the works as well. At the time, it was told to take place centuries before the story for Geralt of Rivia is told. Additionally, premature details on The Witcher Season 2 leaked online, Through captured images of the production over in the United Kingdom, it appears that Netflix is filming what appears to be The Wild Hunt excitingly enough.
Now during WitcherCon on Friday, Netflix reveals that Season 2 is to air on its platform later this December. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen,” reads the synopsis on Netflix. “While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
Elsewhere, claims are surfacing on Netflix ambitions to capture The Witcher’s momentum with different video game properties. In one report, it is indicated that The Elder Scrolls is expected to find a similar production later on. You can read the full report by heading here.
